On a hot email tip from a former Atlanta Cuisine message board poster who then typed under the moniker “Bill Vol,” I made a trip to Iron Horse (402 Argonne Terrace, Canton, Tel: 770.479.0440) to try what he described as the best burger he’s ever eaten in Atlanta. Peter Chang Ready to Open Namesake Restaurant

Peter Chang has officially landed in Atlanta once again joining Dahe Yang, owner of Tasty China in Marietta. Chang's agenda is to train a young chef to take the helm at Tasty China as he, along with longtime friend Yang, open a fancier restaurant called Peter Chang's in the space vacated by Olive's Waterside. When I was kid my father would rant to us that a real hamburger should measure at least one inch-and-half thick, and must be topped with a mandatory — artery-plugging — half pound of bacon. According to him, a hamburger cooked on a flat top is an imposter, he believed — and, still does to this day — that real burgers should be cooked over an open flame. more...
