Pie Hole gives pie a chance in Roswell

This quirky Roswell pie house is getting a lot of Internet play lately. I first read about The Pie Hole (1025 Canton Street, Roswell, 678.461.3776) here late last year.
Pie has never prevailed as a gastronomic worm for me, so despite numerous drive-bys on my way through Roswell, it took nearly 7 months before I finally hung a right into the bouncy gravel parking lot.
I’m no Nostradamus, but I predict several Roswell waistlines will inflate due this store’s proximity. Seriously, if you are on a diet run the other way, like NOW. Consider moving across town.
I’m not kidding, I’ve already warned a slew of nearby waist watchers.
Owner, Alayne Graham, specializes in one item and one item only — you guessed it, pie. She whips up all sorts of flavors including one savory, a chicken pot pie.
I’ll start with my absolute favorite, mango key lime pie. Think the silkiest, creamiest key lime pie you’ve ever placed in your mouth, then add a layer of blissfully pucker-y passion fruit. Oh, my. Somebody need alert Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers, this pie is hereby deemed extremely dangerous.
Due to its explicit nature, no photo.
Then there’s 2 giant apple pies in the case with apple patterns cooked onto their sugary lids. This is possibly the single largest apple pie I’ve ever seen. I put away 3 grossly large pieces — each larger than a human head — but barely put a dent in it. Then I gave 1/3 of the pie away to a friend. She blames me for adding 5 pounds to her derriere and still isn’t speaking to me. Sigh.
And that’s the case with all pies I’ve tasted here. Once you take a bite you can’t stop yourself — it’s that delicious. Crust is flaky, yet has depth and substance. All ingredients that go into each pie are hand picked by Graham herself.
I can wholeheartedly recommend her peach, blackberry and blueberry pies. Heck, even the rich chocolate chess pie is ridiculously addictive — and honestly, I’m not one to melt at the site of chocolate.
One pie I’m desperate to try on is a peach and strawberry. She was sold out during my visits.
I live in MIdtown. The Pie Hole is located in Roswell.
I should be safe, right? No. I’m already shopping for larger pants.

My one complaint is that the pies are VERY sweet. OVerly so in my opinion. The sweetness overwhelmed the blackberries a little bit.

I couldn’t agree more with the author. This place is the best! I bought a whole blackberry pie, a whole apple with walnut crumb topping, a chicken pot pie, and a half a key lime pie from The Pie Hole on Saturday. All were gone by Monday afternoon … nothing but crumbs. Fresh ingredients and very tasty!

Jason, I generally like my sweets on the not so sweet side. However, pies tend to be fairly sweet. Next time try the mango key lime pie, which is more pucker-y than anything else. When it comes down to it, I almost always side with creamy, fruity desserts.

The Pie Hole is freakin’ amazing!! I’ve never met a pie there I didn’t like.

I like the variety, I’ve been introduced to some even my family did not make. I would never have thought strawberry pineapple worked but it does..insanely well. The peach pie filling is as if I made it myself ..and that’s not an insult. It’s become a lovely treat for us to go get a slice on Saturdays. I don’t like anything with preservatives, etc so being able to find a place with homemade pie is a real treat. We really love it. I even proudly wear a I (heart) pie tee shirt!

I love pie and this is the best I’ve ever had. Peach is amazing. Key lime – mango is delicious and the apple with walnut crumb crust is to die for. I’ve also had the chicken pot pie several times for dinner. You can’t eat just one piece, it’s that good!
