Beer Binge Day 4: Monday Night Brewing (Homebrew) Blind Pirate

If you haven’t read my first entry regarding Monday Night Brewing, please do for a brief summary about this brewery-in-planning.

Blind Pirate, a strong double IPA, was my favorite out of this yeasty, unassuming garage in west midtown. What’s not to like? It pours cloudy, full of hops — ringing up 78 IBUs. For a beer this hopped up and rearing to go, it’s well balanced with great drinkability. Amazing what a sturdy, sweet malt backbone can do for a big IPA.

It drinks with some of the same great qualities as Kevin McNerney’s Hopgasm at 5 Seasons Brewing Sandy Springs. In fact, the Blind Pirate could pass as a cousin, or even younger brother. That’s a pretty tall compliment.

Keep on eye out for these guys, I have a hunch big things are getting ready to happen.

I’m only left with one question for now: How do I get an invite to one of those Monday Night garage keggers?
