Beer Tip: Stone Brewery Thirteenth Anniversary Ale

I first stumbled onto this beer at Brick Store Pub about two weeks ago. It was pouring on tap.
I most recently picked up a bottle (large format only) at Hop City Craft Beer and Wine. What a beautiful beer. This bitter American strong ale (9.5%abv) pours a captivating deep red with a light tan head that hangs around.
This dry prickly one is all hopped up and ready go, but its malt complexity acts as a leash offering some balance.
Stone Brewery is another California talent putting out world-class beer, and this bad boy is no exception.
Happy Birthday to the folks at Stone … and here’s to many more.
Verdict: 4.5 on a scale to 5
